What Belongs in a Well-Stocked Houston Breakroom

Organized breakroom supply shelves with coffee, cups, and disposables

A breakroom feels well run when nothing is missing. That is less about how much you buy and more about which categories you never let hit zero. Use this as a starting checklist and adjust it to your team.

Coffee and hot beverages

The core category, and the one people notice immediately when it runs out. Keep at least one regular roast, one bolder roast, and one decaf so preferences are covered.

  • Regular and dark roast coffee
  • Decaf
  • Black, green, and herbal tea
  • Hot chocolate
  • Cappuccino or frothy cream mix, if your team drinks it

Additions and condiments

The items that turn coffee into the drink someone actually wants. Liquid creamers and shelf-stable cups both work; the right choice depends on whether the breakroom has reliable refrigerator space.

  • Liquid creamers in a few flavors
  • Non-dairy creamer canisters
  • Sugar, and at least one sugar substitute
  • Stir sticks or stirrers

Disposables

The fastest-moving category in most workplaces, and the one most often forgotten in a supply order.

  • Hot cups and lids
  • Cold cups
  • Plates and bowls
  • Forks, knives, and spoons
  • Napkins and paper towels

Equipment consumables

Brewing accessories are easy to overlook until a batch brewer sits idle for lack of filters. Match the filter size and base type to the machine you actually have.

  • Coffee filters sized for your brewer
  • Cleaning and descaling supplies
  • Water filtration cartridges, where used

Kitchen and cleaning items

A breakroom that stays clean gets used. Keep surface cleaner, dish soap, sponges, and trash liners stocked in the same cycle as everything else so cleanliness does not depend on someone bringing supplies from home.

Setting par levels instead of guessing

The reliable approach is to set a target quantity per item per breakroom, count what is on hand at each service visit, and refill back up to the target. Usage then shapes the order instead of memory.

That is exactly how our recurring service visits are run — counts are taken per breakroom, so a building with four breakrooms is not treated as one average.
